Key facts
Contents & fields
The dataset contains output files from WRF v4.2.2 in LES mode for Hurricane Sam (2021). Directories are organized by SGS case (ck_0.075/, ck_def/, ck_0.3/), each containing hourly LES results (wrfout_d03_*), boundary condition (wrfbdy_d01), initial condition (wrfinput_d0*), and namelist.input file. Python scripts for post-processing 10-m wind intensity and minimum sea-level pressure time series are included.
- wrfout_d03_*——Hourly LES output files
- wrfbdy_d01——Boundary condition file
- wrfinput_d0*——Initial condition file
- namelist.input——Model configuration file
- Python scripts——Post-processing for 10-m wind intensity and minimum sea-level pressure time series
Research uses
Can be used to study the impact of subgrid-scale parameterization on hurricane dynamics and forecasts, evaluate different SGS configurations in real hurricane simulations, and validate/improve LES schemes.
